Atlas boxes used on airplanes are highly functional and versatile. These small aluminum containers, employed by airlines to store meals and other essentials during flights, are designed to be compact, durable, and easy to use in the tight confines of aircraft cabins.
After reaching the end of their service life, we transformed a British Airways Atlas box into a unique nightstand. The door was painted white, highlighting the airline’s logo, making the nightstand a perfect fit for most interiors while adding extra character to the space. High-quality blue glass was added both on top and inside the nightstand. The internal shelves retained their functionality, making the nightstand not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical for storing books, glasses, and other bedside essentials, or even a midnight snack.
Using recycled Atlas boxes not only adds a unique charm to your home but also represents a sustainable choice, reducing waste and preserving aviation heritage.
