The landing gear serves for a soft and safe aircraft landing on the runway. An aircraft may have retractable or fixed landing gear. Every aircraft has a nose wheel and a main wheel. The wheel also has a tire, the purpose of which is to support the plane during landing and take-off, and it is also used to brake. If the wheel does not extend during landing, the aircraft cannot land safely and may land on its belly. Therefore, the aircraft wheel is an important part of the aircraft and it must be regularly maintained so that it can perform its function safely. The bigger the planes, the bigger the wheels. Some aircraft have two main wheels, and some have four or more, depending on the weight and size of the aircraft.
The wheel from which we made the coffee table is the main wheel of the CRJ 200 aircraft (registration S5-AAD), which was once part of the fleet of Slovenian airline Adria Airways.
The main wheel of the CRJ 200 was polished and coat-protected. We installed a black stand on top of the wheel, made especially for this design, and installed premium glass on top. Multicolored LEDs under the main wheel illuminate the Adria Airways symbol and ensure magical evenings.
